About Alderman Nugent


Samantha Nugent is a working mom, an active community member, and trained lawyer.

Alderman Nugent’s professional career includes service to the Cook County Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the British Consulate, and former Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan. Samantha Nugent earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut and her Juris Doctor from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

Alderman Nugent resides in the Sauganash community with her husband Rory and their three children.  She is an avid runner, enjoys reading and learning about design and is working on her green thumb.

Following the recommendations from the CDC and the guidance of City and State Officials to avoid non-essential gatherings and any gatherings larger than 10 individuals, CDOT has issued the following:

Block Party permits will not be issued through September 7, 2020. All permits that were issued on July 1st and 2nd have been revoked.

Please note plans for the summer programming and events, including block parties remain under discussion. CDOT will continue to work closely with the Chicago Mayor's Office and Public Health Officials, both locally and at the State level to adopt protocols based on the recommendations and guidance provided to keep our neighbors safe.
